At Borderlands Family Baptist Church, we believe that discipleship is not an optional program—it is the core calling of the Christian life. In keeping with our commitment to Christ-exalting discipleship, we believe that every member of the local body is called to be actively involved in this process. Spiritual growth happens best in intentional, life-on-life relationships where believers walk together, study the Scriptures, hold one another accountable, and apply the gospel to every area of daily living.
Discipleship in the local church is a continuous, generational cycle. Scripture calls us to be life-long learners who are constantly being discipled, while simultaneously pouring into others and discipling the next generation. Whether through one-on-one mentorship, intentional small group studies, or family worship in the home, our goal is to equip every member to mature in Christ and pass down the faith once for all delivered to the saints.
Our Framework for Discipleship
- Being Discipled: Pairing newer or growing believers with mature mentors to study & memorize scripture, practice spiritual disciplines, and grow in sound doctrine.
- Discipling Others: Training every member to invest in others, equipping them to share the gospel, teach the Word, and walk alongside brothers and sisters in Christ.
- Generational Faithfulness: Prioritizing the discipleship of our children and youth, equipping parents to lead their homes in family worship and raising up the next generation of church leaders.
